Directional Technologies, Hamden, CT. 2007-2008
Crew Forman/Drill operator
Directional Technologies is a horizontal directional boring company. As field supervisor I traveled the east coast and was responsible for all aspects of the job, including hauling the large drills and equipment to the job site, positioning of equipment, maintaining and fixing equipment and operating the drill rig. I generated daily reports for hours logged by my 3-7 man crew as well as delegated all responsibilities. Welding and custom fabrication were common when on the road and dealind with this type of drilling equipment.

Wolters Contracting is a general building contractor with a scope of work that ranges from large-scale, commercial fire restoration to snow and ice management. My reputation and workload quickly accelerated from a one-man operation to a successful and profitable, multi-manned contracting business with no outside assistance. I successfully started the business from scratch and then built it up to a team of eight skilled employees while developing the skill needed to own and run a business, such as tenacity, organization and dependability. Most importantly, however, we were there to verify that all work that was done meet current codes and specifications.
1. Developed a strong understanding of the importance of proper procedures for installation of asphalt and concrete as well as their substrates.
2. Evaluated and supervised contractor’s work and stopped their work immediately if they were not meeting job specifications.
